Gwen Stefani Films “Make Me Like You” Music Video Live During Grammys

Gwen Stefani just premiered the music video for her new single, “Make Me Like You” – created live on national television! Directed by longtime collaborator Sophie Muller, it is the first music video ever to be filmed and produced live. The “Make Me Like You” music video aired live during a commercial break for the Grammys as part of a partnership with Target. It was filmed all in one live take, yet Gwen still managed to squeeze in a number of outfit changes.

The “Make Me Like You” music video follows Gwen through multiple sets, ranging from a old-fashioned hair salon to a swanky lounge to a disco-ready roller skating rink. All of it is very 1950s and ’60s, fitting the sound and mood of the song perfectly. “Make Me Like You” is a cheery, fun love song and the music video captures that spirit. The video feels a bit like a musical, both in tone and in the way it was produced, which fits well with Gwen’s frequently theatrical persona as a solo artist. Gwen’s quirkiness and enthusiasm shine through, and the “Make Me Like You” video is a huge success. Check it out below:

“Make Me Like You” is the second single from Gwen’s upcoming third solo album. It follows and contrasts with the lead single, “Used To Love You,” which describes her lost love and the struggles of her recent divorce. Gwen’s new album, This Is What The Truth Feels Like, will be release on March 18th via Interscope Records. The standard edition is available for pre-order on iTunes now – it comes with 12 new songs – while the Target and international editions offer a handful of original bonus tracks.
