2015 is a big year for Garbage. This year marks the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Garbage. That record spawned beloved singles including “Stupid Girl,” “Only Happy When It Rains,” “Vow,” and “Queer.” If you missed the Garbage era, or simply want to relive 1995, now is your chance: This summer, Garbage is releasing a 20th anniversary edition of their landmark album, re-mastered and featuring all of the remixes and previously unreleased versions of songs from their debut. It will also be accompanied by a special 20 Years Queer tour, starting in the US this October and going to Europe through November.
In a press release, guitarist Steve Marker talked about Garbage:
Garbage was born out of such unusual elements and unusual circumstances, and we were shocked when the first record became such a success. We’re just as surprised to be here now, intact, so many years later, enthusiastically preparing to get back on the road with that album and all its attendant b-sides and lord knows what else. A big piece of our lives remains caught up in the making of that record, and we know it holds a special place for the fans that have kept us going for so long. We can’t wait. This tour is going to be a blast.
Garbage will offer VIP packages for their 20 Years Queer tour, including premium seating, sound check access, meet and greets, soundboard viewing, and exclusive merch. Torres will support during the US tour dates, while Dutch Uncles will support in Europe. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 12th.

After the 20 Years Queer tour, fans will have even more Garbage music to look forward to: The band is getting ready to release their 6th studio album, the follow-up to 2012’s Not Your Kind Of People, early in 2016. They’ve been recording for over a year now, and it will be great to finally hear the new music.
Look for the 20th anniversary edition of Garbage later this summer. Tickets for the 20 Years Queer tour go on sale on June 12th, with the tour commencing this October in San Diego.
